Product Overview
Millet Cat Litter is the common name for ultra-fine particle bentonite cat litter in the Chinese market. It is named for its particle diameter of about 0.5 to 2mm and its shape resembling millet grains. The actual material is mostly sodium-based bentonite. Some products may additionally contain activated carbon, plant odor-reducing agents, etc. to enhance their functions.
Core features and advantages
✅ Delicate texture, highly accepted by cats
Ultra-fine particles simulate the texture of desert sand, conforming to the nature of cats. It is especially suitable for young cats or those that are particular about the texture of their paws.
The particles have a strong ability to fill the gaps, form a tighter clump, and reduce urine residue.
✅ Rapid water absorption and clumping
The fine particles have a larger specific surface area, resulting in a faster water absorption rate than the coarse-grained bentonite. The clumping process is more rapid.
After clumping, the structure becomes flat and compact, making it less likely to break when removed.
✅ The amount of material used is relatively economical.
Due to its fine particles and good filling properties, the amount of sand used for the same coverage area is slightly less than that of coarse-grained products.
✅ Some products enhance deodorization
Often, activated carbon, lemon/rosemary fragrance essences, etc. are added as auxiliary deodorizing ingredients, claiming a deodorization rate of over 90%
Using Techniques
The sand layer should be 5-7 centimeters thick and ensure proper clumping.
Remove the clumps promptly every day to prevent urine from remaining for a long time.
Place anti-sand spreading mats around the cat litter box to reduce dust pollution.
